For the Arch372 course, we focused on detail drawing for the final. In parallel with the Arch302 Studio, we produce several detail drawings of our studio project. It contain generic system detail, specific spot detail, staircase detail and typical wet space detail.
In the course of Arch372- Building Technologies in Architecture, after the several lectures related with the sustainable design, we were expected to study on a single-housing unit typology within an ecologically sustainable design approach. The climatic conditions were indicated and given to us. We were assigned to design the building envelope in order to apply passive heating/cooling and lighting strategies and specify the main materials. We were also expected to indicate the zoning, decided on the location and the types of trees that we will plant.
While designing the building envelope we have to consider the points such as : optimizing site potentials, optimizing energy use, protecting and conserving water, using greener materials, enhancing indoor environment, optimizing operational and maintenance practices.
